Roles

Website Specialist

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a sophisticated Website Project Manager who understands that a high-performing website is the intersection of aesthetic design, seamless user experience, and measurable business growth. We need a professional who doesn’t just "build pages" but rather creates digital environments that convert visitors into customers.

The ideal candidate is a client-facing expert who can comfortably lead strategic discussions with business owners, translating their vision into actionable project plans. You should have a deep appreciation for design standards, a mastery of the WordPress ecosystem, and the analytical mind necessary to prove that your strategies are working.

WHAT YOU'D BE DOING

As a Website Project Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for our web clients, guiding them from initial discovery through launch and optimization. You will get on video calls to lead strategy sessions, helping clients identify growth opportunities and outlining how their website can better serve their bottom line.

You will be responsible for the "blueprinting" phase of our projects, building out detailed wireframes in Whimsical to establish clear site architecture and user flows before passing them to our creative and technical teams. You will also be responsible for responding to support tickets and delegating work to other team members, including those on the creative team and other WordPress developers. You won’t just be managing tasks; you’ll be improving the product. This includes identifying ways to boost on-page SEO, increase organic traffic, and optimize conversion rates.

Throughout the project lifecycle, you’ll monitor health and performance using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Looker Studio to ensure every site we launch is backed by data. You will work closely with our designers and developers to ensure projects stay on schedule, on brand, and aligned with the high standards of the Kraken crew.

WHAT SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES YOU NEED

We hire U.S.-based contractors who communicate clearly and professionally in English.

Strategy & Consultation: You are comfortable leading client-facing calls and can articulate complex web strategies in a clear, professional, and persuasive manner.

WordPress & Elementor Expertise: You have extensive experience with WordPress and Elementor, understanding both the creative possibilities and the technical limitations of the platform.

UX/UI Blueprinting: You know how to build comprehensive wireframes in Whimsical to define the user journey before building the pages in WordPress.

SEO & Growth Mindset: You have a proven track record of improving on-page SEO and implementing strategies that drive both traffic and conversions.

Project Management Mastery: You can juggle multiple projects without breaking a sweat, ensuring deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.

Data Fluency: Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google Tag Manager to track events, conversions, and user behavior.

WHAT WOULD HELP YOU LOOK EVEN MORE QUALIFIED

Design Background: A strong eye for modern design trends and the ability to provide constructive feedback to a creative team.

Technical Versatility: Familiarity with task management platforms like Asana and the ability to collaborate across different departments to ensure the website integrates with the broader marketing funnel.

AI-Enabled Efficiency: Experience using AI tools to streamline content drafting, site auditing, or technical troubleshooting, while maintaining the oversight to ensure high-quality results.

Website Developer

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a skilled WordPress Web Developer who blends strong design instincts with solid front-end development expertise. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building responsive, high-performing websites in WordPress and Elementor and who understands that great web development balances structure, usability, aesthetics, and performance.

You won’t just be “placing modules.” You’ll be translating approved designs and wireframes into clean, responsive WordPress builds that function beautifully across devices. You should be comfortable handling both development and light project coordination, including communicating with clients when needed and collaborating with designers, copywriters, strategists, and back-end developers.

This is a contractor role suited for someone who values flexibility, works well independently, and can manage deadlines without constant oversight.
